My Trip to Mexico
When I was eight-years-old I took my first and only trip out of the U.S. to Ixtapa, Mexico. It was a business trip for my parents, so I was stuck in a hotel childcare for most of the trip. It turned out to be a really exciting vacation for me. We had an instructor who would bring us out on little adventure-like things and teach us about what kids our age do in Mexico. We played different types of games on the beach, and were taught how to paint plates. During this time I had made a new friend. His name was Jorge (Hor-hey). Jorge was from Ixtapa, and his dad worked at the hotel. Jorge stayed in the childcare while his dad worked. On the weekends when our parents weren't working, my parents would take us to the pool at the hotel and we would get to jump off a waterfall that led into the pool. We talked about what school was like for him, and what is was like for me. He went to school all year round, with a break ever three months, or something like that. I learned a lot about what his life was like, and tried to give him a good idea of what life was like in America.
